Tornado outbreak may 22 2019. Record of Agarest War (アガレスト戦記, Agaresuto Senki), known in Europe as Agarest: Generations of War, is a tactical role-playing game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.[7] The game is a collaboration between Idea Factory, Red Entertainment and Compile Heart.[8] An updated port of the game was released in Japan for the Xbox 360 on November 27, 2008.[1] HyperDevbox released an Android port on December 19, 2013,[6] and an iOS port on May 16, 2014.
Gameplay[edit]
The story progresses through various points plotted on a map. By visiting each point, the player has to battle the creatures, complete a quest, visit a town or go through a conversation to advance through the storyline and open up more points.
Fighting plays out like a strategic RPG where each character has his/her own set of moves, but by moving each character to an appropriate square, you can chain characters together and pull off combos. After each round of combat, each character will regenerate AP and accumulate SP points. When enough SP points have been accumulated, characters can unleash special attacks.
The game includes dating sim elements through its 'Soul Breed' system in which the player creates a new character by pursuing a relationship with a female character[9] as the game's storyline extends for five generations, each one having a different male protagonist. For the first four generations the protagonist marries one among three of his female companions and their son becomes the protagonist of the following generation who inherits stats and abilities from his parents.
Release[edit]
Europe[edit]
The game was localized in Europe as Agarest: Generations of War by Ghostlight. The company planned to publish a standard retail version and a collector's edition, both released on October 30, 2009 for PlayStation 3.[10] Initially, the game was set to use a cover art featuring a realistic version of the protagonist; however, negative feedback led to the publisher changing the cover art for one more faithful to the original.[11] The 32 packs of DLC were put on the European PlayStation Store by Ghostlight.
The game was later ported to PC, and made available on the Steam store in North America and Europe.
North America[edit]
Aksys Games released the game in North America under the title Record of Agarest War on April 29, 2010. The game was released as a download on the PlayStation Network, and on disc for the Xbox 360. It is available as a downloadable title on the Xbox 360. The game retains the original Japanese dialogue.[12]
Xbox 360 version[edit]
A port known as Record of Agarest War: Re-appearance was released exclusively for the Xbox 360 in Japan on November 27, 2008. The Xbox 360 port featured additional voice acting, and a gallery mode. New items and a new dungeon are available over Xbox Live as downloadable content.
Prequel[edit]
A prequel to the game titled Record of Agarest War Zero was released in Japan on June 25, 2009, released in the United States on June 14, 2011, and in Europe on August 26, 2011.[13]
Reception[edit]
IGN's Daemon Hatfield gave the PS3 version a 7.5/10, stating 'If you're a fan of the genre, Agarest War will provide a very long adventure that spans generations.'[14]

Well i try to make something like v1.00 of this finally nearly at end then at least know bit what i saying about (or at least this is my opinion then you know). As was previously written this 'Guide' is written mostly around data from US version by now mostly checked by steam users including myself. It also mostly constructed from linked data as this is half guide and half shortcut to ease my pain with using steam browser with bit of my own ideas / advices. What's the point with all of these pointsFirst all of this stuff is available for your enemies:HP: Just for sake when Hit Points end then character die. Some EX Skills either work below certain threshold or in some way help keep it high (Nulify or lower damage / prevent counters for example)AP: Action Points it's really simple you using them to do various things in combat be it usage of Support Skills or unleashing all Nine Hells on head of some poor, innocent deity. EX Skill 'Genius' lowering AP cost of basically everything.
Also have it's own bonus (later).SP: They fuelling you EX Skills, Combined Attacks and more advanced Finish Strikes ( must be available when you start massacre then put in mind every character above one in team drain one Sp. Then it's going to be FS cost + attacking characters - 1). You acquire them from SP Bonus (later).UP You gain them from depleting enemy break gauge and spend to fuelling you Original Skills and Finish Strikes (it's okay to use in same onslaught in which you gain it). After every attack you gain report which also including amount of gauge depleted in% when it reach 100% you gain UP ( if you gain 90% in one attack and between 10-100% in second you gain 1 UP regardless if it is 100% or 190% and gauge reseting).
More or less valuable values:Wait: It's propably going to be your greatest nemesis. Each attack give it's user Wait and while combatants not attend in action like attack or stanby have this value lowered it going to be really tricky to predict Turn Order (as it's this type of 'order' when it's your / enemy turn to act and magically someone else pop up from nowhere to take action).
If one character attack to much he / she gain 'Overwait' status which basically mean unability to act for even several turns if you push to far. EX Skills like Float / Dance and some characters Formations give 'Wait Reduction' bonus. Strange effects and the one who unleash AoEArea of Effect abilities (AoE) what are they purpose we all know simply doing same things on wider area. But really same? Like you see on this guy movie (just for sake reminding this is Issue 2) he saying about single target attacks are more efficient. Well Yes and No. You can easily acquire additional UP points and take more stuff (as i think you can take MAX 5 items per attack) but it needn't always be best option. No: I put example at 'Photon Raid' it's Mervina OS with is AoE Rare Items Steal (as far as i know only one in entire in-game which isn't FS). If you for example fighting some 'Big Crafty True End VIP' and his 2 bodyguards you can build UP on one of them and launch this ability to steal in one strike from 2-3 targets + use Prismatic Death in meantime to acquire normal drops from main target together 5 items as chance for overkill is close to nothing unless you are 20x stronger then you suppose to be.
Then you can reapet this on second while taking both of them down and concentrate on boss (surely there is better subject as this particular guy absorbing Thunder element then 'Photon Raid' healing him but with amount of HP he have it's nearly nothing). CORRECTION ON END OF SECTIONPrevious information:Like i say before data sources is from original PS3 version of Record of Agarest War 2 for US and we using EU version with is bit more different then it seems.Hang me if you want but i state thing with semms to have effect on actual gameplay in the whole.First is like some ppl say and it isn't sure by now who have right here my suspicion only but.Like you know game in EU was bit censored (they say about censored everything connected to early Fiona but some things ppl claim to be removed like Aina & Fiona CG is still in-game. No 'Hot Springs' #1 event is really censored you still need to do this but you are limited to text but don't worry like it will be why if you want there is still really much more other things like this - and I don't want to explain what additional features they add to them as i'm propably have still left a bit of pride). Still I don't sure this is really all as it seems to they try to replace something or whatever but not matter how much i dig in all info from ppl who create guide for game only thing about EU version vs Guide is always soemthing like 'Not yet confirmed, propably will not work' as guides have already above 2 years and both realese come in about 2 months and have ppl not only confirmed but correct US version its pretty hard to believe for me to it work when EU users sending only issues instead and it not seems for them to get answer.
I suppose this is some kind of changes in amount of affection given in-game (you know when one event raises it and second also raises it not mean they raises the same amount). In effect with same choices Avina was in at least one place to low for one event (+ yes its one with unlocking one of event need for True End) with seems to repeating in many cases on GameFAQ then be carefullWe technically can grind affection i battles but. It seems it would be really long (like more the dozen of hours for 1 level as i using Eva in most battles for entire G1 + spending one mini-game ticket (Pefect 6) + choosing option to raise and she is still barely on 2 like it suppose to be. What mean amount given by battles is really ridiculously low )By now i think this simply matter of changing some choices but only way i find to know how it can help is comparing all 3 guides together when you find something don't working simply need to retrace to moment from with you can repair the issue Then really if you don't doing this then start to save game oftenCorrection: By now seems Khentai himself confirm testing G1 end correctly then seems like his Guide after all WORK as it should.
I link here link to discussion section if further information appear as i with good chances soon vanish from steam for some time and then can't update anything.Added: New info in subject nothing really catastrophical (LP cap, info about some alternative choices in guide as i'm not pretty sure if someone confirming it before, possible different triggers for events (still stated in other parts of guide to be done) and pointless complaining about lack of one of iconic characters from previous games xD). It's what you wait for and propably only one you look in then if you don't read rest i not going to repeat about something which is already there. Like you recall titles is Agarest kind of work and here this is named as Commissions and you have plenty of them to do this is only real list i manage to find by now work really good (only some misplaced monters & and suspicious lack of things like 'is you have all items ever-existed in game' with have high-propability to not be in-game after all leaving only commissions for specific bunch of items at one time)I think for 90% should be fine source. Perhaps missing monsters can be finded sometimes with Master LL's list / list from wikia both linked somewhere here.
I don't sure if it help you but it help me then as i already write all of this then no hurt in write also this:If you have problems with mini-game (precisely with obtaining Necessary Perfect Score) here is my method and you don't expect sense don't you? If yes then why you're reading about this mini-game?To explain how i manage to not only survive this creepy thing but also achieve this Damn Necessary Perfect Score:Ok bit more seriously. You can try first changing setup to mroe fiting ofc as d-pad is i suppose usually one button not 4 separate then blind pushing not really work and stick is little to sens. You know what i mean don't you. Then I changed directional from d-pad to one of sticks (left precisely as right not work on steam for me) AND to right side to (based on PS) 'X' should be down 'O' right etc etc.
Then when comes to using 2 buttons i pushing like madman this buttons on right (X O etc) and doing circle with stick. 1 change (without date) - some clearing with True End issues2 change - Change some things in 'Combat System' section (some information like Ultimate Strikes and Original Skills going to be wrong / unprecise + clear / add a bit about Finish Strikes). Add 20+ empty sections and 'Changelog' section (this empty ones was already removed but I saved them by mistake.
New clearing about True End (mostly in mentioned topic a shortcut here for sure but nothing to overworry i suppose). Some things added regarding mini-game.2.1 change - Crafter Guide publicated it's not finished but should be already of use. I don't going to add later stuff by now because simply concentrate on other games by now as possibly some of them i manage to at least advance before going to hospital. Then if you have something to say feel free i simply don't having in plan making list of all possible exploits (and not matter if you mean this i take this as such and as i write i have really late by the moment then thinking about things other then sleep isn't in good quality by time). Then propably whatever i possible add by the moment is what i hear / read and propably even not diging much.Have a nice day (or whatever you can possibly have by now).
@Frenzy85No problem thx for understanding. Honestly I wasn't really more nice myself but I'm simply on a bit on edge then perhaps generalize little to much. If going to 1 game this OP items in my opinion be even more OP because they not only have uber-stats but most also have 4 slots for skills from begining with don't have much matter here for weapons (at least from what they give in my version of 1st as it be bit bigger pack on sale). Still in basic Agarest i decide to use them as after all all say the real battles start on boundary and as it still was 150h+ before hastening was a good idea as i not need much training with basic tactical battle (not much uncommon in first games some new stuff but using isn't hard)To be continued as i reach a sign limit. I was just saying that DLC is more broken than you think and that Genbu's Gauntlet isn't the most broken thing from the DLC.In fact, I would actually recommend using DLC for this, unlike in Agarest (and Zero). Early on, the only reliable source of damage is Ultimate Attacks, and battles are just stale.
By the time you get decent combos, the gear from DLC isn't as OP (since you can't upgrade them until G3, regular stuff is somewhat comparable).I'm sorry if I came off as being rude or anything of the sort. That was not my intention. @Frenzy85I'm sure some ppl would be greatly appreciate if you develop habit to read before you comment.
I afraid you totally miss the point of this part (in simple words whats the problem in have but not use and play normally having backup (as this gauntlet can serve as emergency backup as you have it already without any game-breaking)for moments of learn system (with by some reason everyone complain about) / in words making sense 'read before you comment').Summation: My advice is to learn how to read and understand as it seems like you read every fourth word. Believe me despite appearances it's really more useful advice than any guide on Steam (after all how you can expect to have the use of any text without this).I wish you good night, because for me it is already beginning to end. Genbu's Gauntlet is OP? It can only be used by Felenne/Ingrit apart from MCs.
This means there will be a gap where you can't make use of it unless your Schwarz is a knuckle user.Compared to that, the fact that you can get Gram, a mid-late G3 weapon from the DLC is way more worth mentioning. Sell off your healing items you get from DLC and you'll have enough money to enhance and convert Rusty Sword for it. Enhance with those 300/275GP items and it's strong even 'till late game. Earliest you can get weapons that are a level below it is mid G3. Earliest you can get weapons that match it (and another Gram, actually) is G3 DLC dungeon. At least one person in your team can use Gram at any point and it is a higher grade weapon than Genbu's Gauntlet!
That's true game-breaking stuff right there.DLC breaks the game so hard it's not even funny.Once you have access to Arc-En-Ciel, Fiona with Gram can wipe most enemy setups in one turn.
